This had been a rumour since November on facebook pages, WhatsApp and other social networks as well. The main catch or difference in the **WELCOME OFFER** and **HAPPY NEW YEAR OFFER** is that the FUP limit has been decreased to 1GB high speed data usage per day which was earlier 4GB FUP per day.

The justification of lowering the 4GB high speed data limit per day to 1GB is that 20% of the users have been using Jio a lot due to which the experience has been bad for all the users.

For now, I won't recommend porting to Jio because of interconnect issues and speed throttling issues a well, whereas a call automatically disconnects after 30mins.
The users who're currently on Jio welcome offer will automatically be transferred to happy new year offer.
Jio will now also start offering free home delivery of Jio SIM cards in 100 cities over india and get a SIM activated within 10mins at your home itself.
